Orienteering Maps are specialized maps made specifically for the sport of orienteering. They are similar to topographic maps but additional details are added. In additional to roads and contours, orienteering maps show vegetation (thick woods, open fields), and other significant features (rocks, man made objects, pits). They are generally at a larger scale as well – 1:15,000, 1:10,000, and sometimes 1:5,000.
