2020-04-23 Rockwoods Range Orienteering Challenge #2

The next challenge in our social distancing Orienteering challenge is here! Complete this course anytime between now and 4/23/20

Start at 11, then go 10, 8, 26, 25, 24, 4, 5, 7, 34, 33, 32, and end at 13!

If your old map is like David Frei’s and is all marked up, you can purchase a new map from our website. An email will come with a map to print at your leisure.

Feel free to post your times and photos on our Facebook event page or email jeffro1978@charter.net

Hope you enjoy the course designed by David Frei. Yes that’s the name you yell when you get cut by a briar or your quads are burning from the small hill in front of you.

Congrats to Mark Geldmeier and to all who came out for a beautifully cold Babler park. Thanks to Yvonne and everyone for designing, setting, and picking up the courses!

2019-12-28 Holiday O

Thanks to Scott and Melissa Kelley for setting a few courses for us! Thanks to those who stuck around to pickup controls. No bikes were used this year because the trails were muddy, maybe next year. Congrats to Nathan Graves for the W! And to all who braved a slight chill and some mist to come out.

2019-11-30 Turkey O

Congrats to all who braved driving over the river and thru the woods in the storms! We lucked out with the really crazy rain, by the time the meet started Kevin Minton had made the rain stop! But the creeks and streams were flowing hard which made for some wet feet.

Thanks again to Kevin Minton for setting and directing the meet!

2019-10-26 Castlewood Night Score O

Congrats to Josh Borgemeyer for the overall win!

Thanks to Brian Hey for setting and directing another successful meet despite a cold October rainy night. Thanks to David Frei for course design and Kevin Minton for vetting.

2019-09-21 Kirkwood Night-O

What a fantastic evening for the 25th installment of David Frei’s famous Kirkwood Night-O. We started this year’s meet with registration at the amphitheater. At the start David surprised everyone with a mandatory first checkpoint, which altered people’s overall strategy. Everyone had 45 minutes to find as many controls as possible. The finish was in the very middle of the amphitheater. We had 7 year olds and up compete! Even a few puppies. Congrats to everyone who competed. Results are posted below.

A huge thank you to David Frei and his family for organizing another wonderful evening for the rest of us!

Wait, what does that mean? Glad you asked. There will be a 3 hr time limit to get as many controls as possible. Don’t get back late to the finish, points will be deducted. The Dogbone part means that each control has a partner. On the map it look like two circles and a line, hence Dogbone.
