Congrats to everyone who came out for a beautiful spring course. The sun was out, the woods were open, some got lost, and most found themselves finishing with a smile.
Congrats to Brian Rodenbeck for the Win! And thank you to Tim Johanns, Mark Geldmeier and Brian R for helping pick up a controls. Thank you to Kevin Minton for helping get everyone in the computer and their Epunch sticks. Help is always appreciated!
Congrats to all for a tough and fun day in the woods. Big shoutout to Gary Thompson for all his volunteered time and energy. The Course was perfect and his point system was masterful!
Also big shoutout to a lot of newer folks to the sport, well done!
Thanks to everyone who came on a beautiful summer night. The two courses were kept at sprint length and out of the woods. But the route choices are what made the precious seconds matter. The top 3 were separated by seconds!
Below is a link to see split times to each checkpoint and Overall Results
Thanks to Yvonne for setting a wonderful Winter O in Babler State Park. It was a frosty start from the outdoor shelter. Luckily the hills helped warm us up!
Sorry for checkpoint green 6 and red 10. The control was moved to the correct spot halfway thru the meet. Thanks Brian Rodenbeck.
Below are the results. Please email me jeffro1978@charter.net if you have any corrections
After some shuffling around we finally landed our last “woods” event of the 2021-22 season. We will return to St. Francois State Park near Bonne Terre, MO, about 45 minutes from St. Louis. Dave Welsh will direct the meet.
Meet at Shelter #2 in the Southwest corner of the park. Follow the signs when you get there. Registration starts at 9am with starts to follow immediately. Last start at 11am. All participants will need to be off the course by 2pm.
Courses will be available for all levels. Come join us for one more in the woods before the Summer Series kicks off!
Thanks to all who came out for another installment of the summer sprint series. While the 3.9km course is a bit longer than a sprint, the open fields, paths, and flat terrain proved enjoyable and fast!
The course was purposely littered with extra decoy controls. Participants did a great job reading the clue sheets accurately to find the correct controls in a short time.
The epunch system worked great. The user(that’s me) needed some work and updating. I’ve got it figured out now. Next meet will have printed splits and results immediately upon downloading. Thanks for everyone’s patience.
Below are the overall results. Below that is a link to WinSplits, which will show you the split times between each checkpoint compared to your fellow Orienteerers.
It was a gorgeous day to explore Cliff Cave County Park. We had many members, first timers, and families with little ones all out and about trying their hand with a map and compass! Great Job Everyone!!
